Blog #210: Toy Review: Japanese Transformers Prime Arms Micron C.J. 2

Japanese Transformers Prime Arms Micron C.J. 2

C.J. 2 was previously released in different colors with Cliffjumper.  (C.J. 2 is how I’ve seen him listed online.  I’m not sure if that’s his official name or just to note he is the second version of C.J.)

Kit:  The kits are fairly easy to assemble, and so far the stickers seem to be staying on well.  The plastic is higher quality than the Kabaya kits.  They have no paint apps and are perfect for customizers to paint up for a more elaborate look.  Each Arms Micron includes something like a spark crystal, but I’m not sure if that is the intent of it.  A sticker goes on before the outer translucent plastic to form it.  They look nice, but I had some problems getting the crystal to stay in on some of them.  Might need a little glue.

Weapon Mode:  He looks cool, but the way his legs flip over in gun mode, they could be easily snapped off if pushed too hard.  There is no surface for them to rest against.  He is a three-barreled cannon and quite reminiscent of G1 Targetmasters in transformation.  I like the green coloring, but not as much as the red version that came with Cliffjumper.

Robot Mode:  Has is more articulated than most of the other Arms Microns.  Very cool looking.  He suffers from having a peg sticking straight out of his chest, common with some G1 Targetmasters.

Overall:  I like it, but if you already have the red version that came with Cliffjumper, I wouldn’t bother.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
