The first series of Japanese Transformers Prime Gashapon (plastic bubbles with toys you get from vending machines)* Arms Microns came out this week. The full set includes 6 toys, an Optimus Prime, a Bumblebee, and black and pink versions of a gecko named Zado and a Cobra named Gobu. These differ from the ones that come with the mainline toys. They come fully assembled, have no stickers, and in the case of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, are painted. They are not as detailed as the kit versions that come with the toys. I really like the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The other two are nice, but I think I prefer the kits. Very cool overall though, and I’m looking forward to series 2.
* – Gashapon, for the record, is a trademark of Bandai used for their capsule toys, so technically these are not Gashapon. However, I have often heard the term used in general for toys like this, though it is technically incorrect.
One warning, if you buy these you need to check them carefully. My Optimus Prime had two right legs (as you can see in the pictures below). Fortunately the vendor I purchased them from is able to send a replacement leg. Just be aware of this.
Thanks for reading!
