This is the second, in what I assume must be a series, of G1 Optimus Prime repaints sold exclusively by a Japanese clothing store called, A Bathing Ape.  (Read my review of the first one here.)

Optimus looks pretty great in robot mode.  The dark gray and black color scheme with gold chrome looks nice, but they should have painted the stripes across the front and sides of the cab gold instead of silver.  The BAPE logo, as well as his faceplate and forehead should have been gold too.  It’s still nice looking though.

He still has the odd stickers in the trailer, but this time they are black and white instead of full color.

Overall, it’s nicer looking than the green camouflage version.  It also seems to be selling cheaper on ebay than the first one.  I think the novelty may be wearing off.  Someone will have to explain to me the logic of doing more strange repaints of Optimus Prime.  I sort of assumed they might have more toys in the future, but I didn’t think they would do another Optimus Prime repaint.  With all the G1 molds that could be repainted, you’d think they would do a different toy.
