This blog is going to be short, mainly because three of these games are such easy picks, that there is not much to think about.
Saints at 49ers – I would LOVE to pick San Francisco in this game, but I can’t. I don’t think the Saints will put up 50 points against the 49ers defense, but I think they can put up more than enough to beat their offense. Saints win easy.
Giants at Packers – I must admit, after the shellacking they gave the Falcons (who I had picked to win) last week, there was a moment when I wondered if the Giants could pull it off. After thinking about it for a few days, I had my answer. No. Packers win in a landslide. Eli may have pulled off a miracle against Favre a few years ago, but he’s not facing Favre this time.
Texans at Ravens – Here’s the most interesting game of the weekend. I think if this game is played in Huston, you pick the Texans. As it is in Baltimore, the edge goes to the Ravens. While the Ravens are my pick, I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Huston win. Yates had been pretty good for them, I’m betting he has a starting job somewhere next year, but the Ravens are too good at home.
Broncos at Patriots – The Tim Tebow train has reached its last stop. The Patriots beat them up a few weeks ago, and they will do it again. Bilichick has been planning for this for weeks. (Did anyone not know that the Broncos were going to slide into the playoffs and pull off an upset against the hobbled Steelers?) This one is no contest. Patriots win by 21 or more.
