The Loyal Subjects X The Transformers Series 1

loyalsubjects2-01

I just got in the first series set of The Loyal Subjects X The Transformers Series 1.  These 3 inch figures are pretty cool.  They have limited articulation, but I really like them.  Series one includes Bumblebee, Grimlock, Jazz, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, and Thundercracker.  Additionally there are three chase figures, a 1/24 Jazz, a 1/48 Megatron, and a 1/96 Bumblebee.  I only have the Jazz, but I tracked down photos of the other two.  Additionally, there was a Toy Tokyo exclusive carded Sunstorm, which was also sold at SDCC 2013, along with the SDCC 2013 exclusive Cybertron Edition Megatron.  The regular and chase figures are blind packed.  Sets of the base set of eight are selling for around $90, so they are a little expensive.

Not much more to say about these.  There are a few notes below.  Sorry about the pictures, I used a bad angle and you can’t see the eyes on some of them.

Not really sure why Megatron has a square gun.

Starscream

Starscream and Thundercracker’s wings come separate and need to put on.  They have two thin long pegs on each wing to connect to the robot’s back.  My Starscream went together pretty easy, but Thundercracker didn’t.  Pretty sure one of the pegs broke off, but you can’t tell looking at it.  Really poorly designed they should have been larger shallower pegs.  It’s not like they are weight bearing.  You may wish to consider finding a really thin drill bit and boring out the holes.  In case you bore them out too much, just add a little glue on the peg and you should be all set.  Either way, once you put the wings off, I wouldn’t plan to put them back in the box.

I would have liekd to see a lighter blue color on Thundercracker.  I keep looking at him and thinking he’s Skywarp.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
