Blog #189: Toy Review: Transformers Kre-O Decepticon Ambush

Transformers Kre-O Decepticon Ambush

Please read this blog first with my overall thoughts on the second series of Kre-O sets.

Building Set: For the first time, we have Kre-O sets that are based around the Kreons instead of the building sets.  You can build the spotlight and spike strip (I assume that is what it is supposed to be) and then either the ATV or whatever that other thing on the right is supposed to be.  The ATV is pretty cool, but the rest of it is kind of lousy.

Kreons: This set includes Cliffjumper and three Vehicons.  Cliffjumper is clearly based off his G1 design, while the Vehicons are based on Transformers Prime.  Also of note is that they made each Vehicon different, which is a really nice touch and easy to do by just adding a couple of parts to the base figure.  As always the Kreons are very cool and are the highlight of the set.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
