Blog #2935: Toy Review: Transformers Missing Link Arcee and Prototype Arcee

Transformers Missing Link Arcee and Prototype Arcee

The Transformers Missing Link series takes original G1 toys and reengineers them with modern joints and possibility, but now Hasbro and Takara have gone a step further. It’s only taken forty years, but the G1 Arcee prototype design has been remolded to have modern joints. Honestly, I couldn’t care less about the joints. G1 Arcee is finally a reality!

Arcee

Vehicle Mode: The design of Arcee’s vehicle mode is perfect. I love everything about it. The G1 color version is perfectly painted, but I kind of like the orange and pink color scheme. Not accurate of course, but very cool looking. Would love it if Hasbro repainted some other Arcee toys in this color scheme.

Robot Mode: Oh how I wished she had come out in 1986. She looks perfect, the G1 toy we deserved. I love that they gave the G1 color version a new head sculpt that was more G1 accurate, but I do like the original head sculpt, though clearly, it would not have been accurate.

Overall: Do I even have to say it? These are absolute must haves. I guess Thomas Wolfe was wrong. You can go home again, at least if you collect Transformers.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
