Ultimate Cyber Changer Megatron

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Knight Armor Turbo Changer Hound

It appears Megatron needs some Mounjaro. He’s clearly been hitting the Energon cookies. He’s fat is what I’m saying, and that is definitely FAT, not phat. Anyway. In truck mode he has a new grill and roof, but otherwise the mold seems unchanged. He has a new cannon and a gunner platform on the back of the truck which is a separate part. In robot mode he has a newly molded stomach and chest, and a new head. They couldn’t be bothered to add a port for his cannon on his arm, so he has to hold it in his hand. This is, I believe, the only reused mold on the Cyberworld line. It’s a shame it isn’t a better looking Megatron, I love the G2 color scheme, but that is the only reason I can come up with to buy it. For completists only.

Armored Cyber Changer Bumblebee

I really like the design of Bumblebee’s vehicle mode. He seems to be a cross between a racer car and a Humvee. I like it. He could have used a few more paint apps, some black stripes on his roof and or sides. In robot mode, he is okay. Hasbro haws made worse Bumblebee toys. His weapon is a big gimmicky piece of shit, but at least he has a weapon. Of the two Bumblebees in this line, this one has the better vehicle mode, while the other has the better robot mode, so it’s a coin flip if you’re just getting one.

Armored Cyber Changer Galvatron

Galvatron is now a dragon. His dragon mode is okay. Robot mode is okay too. His gimmick weapon is less stupid than Bumblebee’s. His tail becomes a sword, but he can’t actually hold it like a sword. Well don Hasbro. Most interesting is his mustachioed face. Why does Galvatron now have a mustache rather than looking like Galvatron? Who the fuck knows? If you want a Galvatron, this is one. Can’t say I recommend him though.

Armored Cyber Changer Chopshop

Chopshop has a great head sculpt. I love the mouthful of teeth. His insect mode looks great, and so does his robot mode. I love the bright G2-ish colors. His gimmick weapon isn’t bad in robot mode, though looks a bid weird in insect mode. Chopshop is probably one of the better toys in the line. Recommended.

Armored Cyber Changer Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime looks pretty good in Humvee mode. I like the silver paint apps and that they gave him smokestacks. He’s okay in robot mode. Nothing awful, though I would prefer he have the classic windows chest. His gimmick weapon isn’t terrible. It’s certainly better than the others.

Cyber Changer Megatron

Megatron is a bull. That is some grade A bullshit. His bull mode is lousy. He’s basically a box with legs. Robot mode is okay. For completists only.

Cyber Changer Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime’s vehicle mode isn’t terrible. Front half is decent, back half is less so, but overall not terrible. I rather like his robot mode, but if you got the other Prime, this one might be an easy skip.

Cyber Changer Sky-Byte

Sky-Bite has wheels. Shouldn’t they have called him Ground-Byte? I wheely don’t understand. I guess we’ll just have to roll with it. Heh. Anyway. Car Shark, I mean Sky-Byte, looks okay in shark mode. I guess. Robot mode is okay. For completists and wheeled shark enthusiasts only.

Cyber Changer Snarl

Snarl looks pretty good in dinosaur mode, but a stegosaurus does not have long legs like that. I like the color scheme. I like his head sculpt. Robot mode is better than most. I can’t not recommend my favorite Dinobot.

Cyber Changer Bumblebee

As I said earlier, this Bumblebee has a pretty decent robot mode, better than the other one, though not by a lot. I just wish they hadn’t painted whole top of his vehicle mode black. It’s not terrible, but I like the other one better.

Cyber Changer Elita-1

Elita-1 looks great in vehicle mode. I love the boat design and the colors. She actually looks great in robot mode. She is definitely one of the better toys in the line.

Cyber Changer Starscream

The design of Starscream’s jet mode is pretty cool, but he needs more paint apps. His robot mode is okay. He’s nothing special, but not bad either.

Cyber Changer Wheeljack

I don’t hate Wheeljack’s car design, but it just doesn’t seem like a Wheeljack. In red I could see it as Sideswipe. Paint apps look good though. Robot mode is okay, but he needed some paint apps on his legs.

Mirage

Mirage is, for some reason, a remold of Starscream. If we ignore the stupidity of Mirage being a jet, his vehicle mode looks pretty good. Robot mode is okay. For completists only.

Strike Battle Set Scorponok

Finally we have an absolutely great toy. Scorponok is AWESOME! He looks like he’s right out of G2 with that colors scheme. I really like it. Overall design is great, maybe a bit blocky, but that’s minor. He looks so cool in both modes. I love the sword. Scorponok is an absolute must have.

Chomp and Battle Grimlock

Grimlock’s T-Rex mode is okay. It’s not great, but not awful. His tail becomes a vehicle for smaller figures. Robot mode look pretty good, though I don’t love the gun have. Grimlock can also become a mech suit for smaller figures. Not sure why Grimlock would want to be warn like a coat.

Overall: I have yet to watch the animated series. Five minute episodes are a joke, as is this entire line. There are a few Gems, Scorponok, Chopshop, an Elita-1 are all worth getting. Galvatron and Armored Bumblebee and Optimus Prime aren’t bad. The rest is pretty much crap. I hope we’ve seen the last of this turkey of a line.

Thanks for reading!
