Transformers: Dramatic Capture Series Triple takeover (Astrotrain, Blitzwing, Starscream)

Astrotrain

Previous Mold Use: Siege Leader Class Astrotrain, Legacy Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection Leader Class Galaxy Shuttle

I’ve got mixed feelings about Astrotrain. This is unquestionably the better paintjob on him. He looks awesome. That they did not include the tender bugs me. On one hand, it’s only needed in one mode, but it always bothered me that he did not have a tender. All steam engines need one. Regrettably, the paint job does nothing for his garbage vehicle modes. His train mode looks like he needs a four rail track and that’s dumb. His shuttle mode front half is fine, but the back half looks like he’s unfinished. Not paint job can cover for that.

Blitzwing

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Leader Class Blitzwing, Legacy United Leader Class Overcharge

As with Astrotrain, Blitzwing’s paint job is far superior to the original version. I don’t miss those stupid giant hands though. They were cool as missile pods in tank mode, but were otherwise useless. Jet mode still has a box of crap hanging from its undercarriage.

Starscream

This is one of the best Starscream toys ever. His paintjob is perfect.

Overall: If you want the best versions of these three toys, then this is the set you want. But it’s over $100 for one awesome toy, and two that are a lot like putting lipstick on a pig. I can’t blame anyone for buying them just to display in robot mode, but I can’t strictly speaking call this a must have.
