Transformers: Generations: Age of the Primes Deluxe Class Solus Prime

Solus Prime

Vehicle Mode: I love the design of Solus Prime’s Cybertronian truck mode. She could have used some more paint apps. She’s very dark purple and a few more gold apps would have made her pop. Still, very cool in vehicle mode overall. I do have one design complain, the pegs that connect her front fenders to the body of the vehicle are not very solid. I’ve seen worse, but they don’t really want to stay in place very well.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Solus Prime has a great head sculpt, and plenty of gold paint apps. My only complaint is the thing that hangs down from her waist in front. I am sure there is a technical name for this article of clothing, but it looks really weird on her.

Update: So, I spoke with Zabgoth about this and pointed out that she is a blacksmith and that thing hanging down is meant to be a blacksmith’s apron.  So Hasbro failed miserably in making it look like a blacksmith’s apron.  I looked at dozen’s of pictures of blacksmith’s aprons and ever single one covers the hips and outsides of the legs.  What they ended up with look more like an armored chastity belt.  She is pretty small for a deluxe toy.  They should have included the apron as an accessory.

Overall: Solus Prime is very good with an odd design choice.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
