Blog #2840: Toy Review: Transformers Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper

Transformers Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper

The Transformers Missing Link series takes original G1 toys and reengineers them with modern joints and possibility.

Bumblebee

Previous Mold Review: Walmart Exclusive Vintage G1 Reissue Mini-Cars Wave 1

Bumblebee is compared above to the Walmart Vintage Reissue. I’ve got to say. It sucks that they couldn’t paint his headlights. Other than that he’s fine in vehicle mode, but that isn’t really what anyone cares about. In robot mode he has actual hands that can hold an actual gun! He has joints, and can now achieve his lifelong goal of dancing, or whatever other pose you feel like putting him in. I was initially really annoyed that they did not use the G1 animation face, but they just recently announced an Anime 2-Pack of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, which I assume will use the other face.

Cliffjumper

Cliffjumper looks great and has the same articulation as Bumblebee, but he has two guns. He comes with the gun he used to try to shoot Megatron. If only he hadn’t missed.

Overall: These are absolute must haves, but if you prefer the animation look, you can wait for the 2-pack.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
