Transformers: Legacy United Dinoking (Doryu, Gairyu, Goryu, Kakuryu, Rairyu, Yokuryu, Dinoking

Hasbro has given each member of the team a new head and new weapons. All are colored to resemble the inner robots, not the dinosaur shells.

Doryu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Snarl

Doryu looks fine in robot mode, but the color scheme just does not work on his vehicle mode. I like the new weapon.

Gairyu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Scarr

His color scheme looks much better on his dinosaur mode than Gairyu’s. His new weapon is Dinoking’s new fist. I understand why they did that, but it doesn’t look great as a gun.

Goryu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Grimlock

Goryu’s paintjob does a decent job simulating the metal cap on his dinosaur head. His new robot head sculpt looks great.

Kakuryu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Slag

Kakuryu’s new head sculpt and weapons look great, but I don’t really like these colors on this mold.

Rairyu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Sludge

I understand why Rairyu is painted the way he is, but I would rather him be gold or black in dinosaur mode. He looks fine in robot mode. The new weapons are Dinoking’s feet. I like his head sculpt.

Yokuryu

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Core Class Swoop

Like Doryu, I just do not like this mold in these colors.

Dinoking

Previous Mold Use: Legacy Evolution Combiner Volcanicus

I do like Dinoking’s new accessories. Having feet is a huge improvement and I like the new hands and head sculpt.

Overall: It’s hard for me to get excited by this set. I want a real Dinoking and Monstructor. I know that’s unlikely. This isn’t a bad set, but it is so much less than we deserve.
