Hasbro has done a lot of gimmick toys, and often those gimmicks don’t work very well. (Like all the One Step Changers that take more than one step to transform.) This is a rare case where the gimmick is actually pretty great. In vehicle mode you hit (smash), him down hard on his feet three times, and he is fully in robot mode. Each smash activates one of the steps. I was not expecting to like it, but it works really well. He looks okay in robot mode. Those flaps in front of his hands not folding out of the way is really annoying. He looks pretty great in vehicle mode.

Overall: This is a really fun toy to transform. Hasbro gets an A+ for design on this. It is not worth having for the look of the toy, but might be for the engineering.
