Blog #2714: Toy Review: Transformers: Walmart Exclusive Robot Enhanced Design (R.E.D.) Wave 6 and 7 (Galvatron, Shockwave, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Thundercracker)

Transformers: Walmart Exclusive Robot Enhanced Design (R.E.D.) Wave 6 and 7 (Galvatron, Shockwave, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Thundercracker)

I had a hell of a time tracking these down. Apparently some Walmarts had them, but not the ones I go to. I had to resort to eBay for some. The line has been mercifully canceled. I don’t have much to say about them, this will be very brief.

Galvatron

Decent enough Galvatron figure.

Shockwave

Shockwave looks really great. Since they won’t transform him into a gun anymore, this is probably one of the most accurate Shockwaves we will ever get.

Megatron (Prime)

That is a great looking TF Prime Megatron. Pity nobody could see him in that accursed plastic free packaging.

Optimus Prime (Prime)

Pretty good, though the plastic is so shitty one of his blades is permanently bent.

Thundercracker

Thundercracker looks like Thundercracker. Mission accomplished.

Overall: I think Rhinox would say, “When a new Transformers toyline begins, there is great joy. When one is extinguished, the universe weeps. Unless it’s a five star turd like R.E.D, and then there is even greater joy.”

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
