Trans Sphere The Evil Energy Panzer Legion 5 (Transformers G1 Blast Off, Brawl, Onslaught, Swindle, Vortex, Bruticus)
Blast Off
The Evil Energy Panzer Legion 5, like a lot of older 3rd party toys is more of a reimagining of the characters than an attempt to recreate them exactly. Blast Off looks pretty awesome, though his space shuttle mode is a bit stylized, since he does not look like the real space shuttle. His colors and paint apps are great. He has multiple weapons, always a plus for me. I really like his head sculpt.
Brawl
I love the design of Brawl’s tank mode. Very cool. In robot mode he looks great. I really like his head sculpt. He doesn’t have a lot of paint apps, but he doesn’t really need many.
Onslaught
Onslaught look great in vehicle mode and making all of Bruticus’s combiner parts become a trailer was a really cool design choice. In robot mode he has a great head sculpt. I don’t love the ladder pattern on his back guns. Would have been nice if they could turn around.
Shockwave
The set comes with a non-transforming Shockwave gun. It’s very cool and even includes his hose.
Swindle
Like some other versions of Swindle, he’s now a Humvee or something like one. I like the design. Robot mode looks great.
Vortex
Vortex is my favorite of the set. I love the design of his helicopter mode. In robot mode I love the guns on his shoulders. He has a great head sculpt.
Bruticus
Bruticus looks fantastic when combined. I love the silver paint on his chest, waist plates, head, feet, and hands. It would have been nice if his back guns didn’t have the four screw heads on the front. I do like the pink paint on them, though I think silver would have looked better.
Overall: When I bought this I think I paid around $50, but that was a year or so ago. Only one I could find for sale was on eBay for $100. This toy is not worth $100, but it’s absolutely worth $50.
