Blog #2707: Toy Review: Fansproject Causality Crossfire Intimidator (T-Bone, Diesel, Down Force, Last Chance, Car Crash) and Kausality Krossfire Intimidator (K-Bone, Petrol, Down Force, Lost Chance, Kar Krash) (Transformers G1 and G2 Stunticons Menasor, Breakdown, Dead End, Dragstrip, Motormaster, Wildrider)

Fansproject Causality Crossfire Intimidator (T-Bone, Diesel, Down Force, Last Chance, Car Crash) and Kausality Krossfire Intimidator (K-Bone, Petrol, Down Force, Lost Chance, Kar Krash) (Transformers G1 and G2 Stunticons Menasor, Breakdown, Dead End, Dragstrip, Motormaster, Wildrider)

The Causality Crossfire Stunticons came out in 2013, so they are earlier third party toys. They were never meant to be exact replicas of the original characters, but reimagine them (that’s how I look at them anyway).

Breakdown (Car Crash and Kar Krash)

Vehicle Mode: Breakdown’s design looks great. Paint apps are also great. I must admit the G2 looses something without the sticker designs. It would have been nice if they had fully painted him.

Robot Mode: I love Breakdown’s robot mode. Great paint apps. I love his head sculpt. You’ll note that there is a mold change between the two. The G2 now has two ports on the sides of his torso. I do not know why they are different. Not sure if this was a change made between the two productions, or if there were reissues of these and the change was made there. What I know that when you combine them in to Menasor this allows you to put the leg cars on nose up instead of nose down. There are also changes to Motormaster noted below.

Dead End (Last Chance and Lost Chance)

Vehicle Mode: Dead End’s car mode is awesome. I love the design. Such cool looking cars. Both have great paintjobs. Again no G2 sticker designs, but I feel like the Dead End has more paint apps and misses them less that Breakdown does.

Robot Mode: Both Dead Ends look great in robot mode. I love the head sculpts.

Dragstrip (Down Force and Down Force)

Vehicle Mode: I like the design of the car. It’s a departure from the original design, but I like it. Unlike Breakdown and Dead End, the G2 does have some of his G2 sticker designs (actually I’m not sure if the original was all stickers, some might have been tampos). He has the black and gold checkerboard on his sides and the colored rectangles on his spoiler, but he does not have the design on the nose in front of the cockpit. I umch prefer the G2 to the G1, but both look great.

Robot Mode: As with the other two, great looking robot modes, great head sculpts, great paint apps. They are both excellent.

Motormaster (Diesel and Petrol)

Vehicle Mode: Both versions of Motormaster look great in vehicle mode. I really like the look of his vehicle mode. It’s big and has weight to it. It is the one of the set that looks the most like G1 Motormaster. Also like G1 Motormaster, he’s one sold piece. The cab cannot be removed from the trailer. You can also remove the back half of the trailer and turn him into a box truck. He also lacks the G2 art.

Robot Mode: First off, I don’t quite have his shoulders transformed correctly. I just looked at some pics and I missed something. The instructions were not great, so I’m going to blame them, but I think they slide up so they are even with his shoulders like they should be. It’s possible I was frustrated and just missed the last step. In any case, even if I ignore that, I don’t love his robot mode. I don’t like the head sculpt. I don’t think it really looks like the G1 toy at all. I don’t like the boxy head. There are some mold changes between the two versions as I said above, but I’ll talk about them below as they are related to combining into Menasor.

Wildrider (T-Bone and K-Bone)

Vehicle Mode: Wildrider has a great vehicle design, but I think the design looks better in the G1 colors, but I do like the G2’s black striping. Again the G2 art is missing.

Robot Mode: Robot modes look great. Head sculpts are excellent, paint apps are great. As you can see the G2 has the ports on the sides of his chest like Breakdown.

Menasor (Intimidator and Intimidator)

Both versions of Menasor look amazing. I love this looks of him. You’ll note the G2 has the legs hood side up due to the mod changes noted above. I think they still can combine the other way, but I prefer them hood up. Colors are amazing, especially on the G2. I really like the head sculpt. I got screwed by a well known online dealer. I bought the G2 limbs from them at a show and paid at the show for them to mail me the G2 Motormaster. The one I received was a return and the left shoulder combined connector was messed up. The G2 has altered connectors from the G1. I’m not sure why they made the change. As you can see in the pics, the G1 has a rivet at his shoulder while the G2 has a screw. That god, I had to take it apart twice before getting him combined. Ultimately I had to shave some plastic off the connector to get the arm to connect properly. Not sure why they made these changes. The G1 went together with no problem. Could be the arms don’t stay on when being posed, but I don’t pose my toys so I did not notice. The G2 sword with the bright silver pain looks awesome.

Overall: If you’re going to get one, I like the G2 better overall. Do be careful of those shoulder connectors though, if the G2 ones get bent it will suck. Do not buy a used Motormaster without closely examining those connectors for any stress or warping of the plastic. I notices not issues with the G1, but if it was reissued, it probably uses the G2 mold. I don’t have any regrets buying these, but I do think they are overpriced. Especially with the more recent better versions Menasor available, I think the prices on these really should come down. There are lots of loose ones for sale, but the prices are high.

Thanks for reading!
