Blog #2646: Toy Review: MH Toys Shattered Glass Hurricane (Transformers Shattered Glass Cyclonus)

MH Toys Shattered Glass Hurricane (Transformers Shattered Glass Cyclonus)

Hurricane is a knockoff of Fans Toys Quietus at about half the price. This is a Masterpiece scale figure.

Accessories

Cyclonus comes with a samurai head. Not sure why. It comes with two versions of his antennae, one broken, one not. Changing his head required taking out screws and I didn’t want to bother, but this is the head that goes with his samurai weapons.

Targetmaster

This is a great looking Targetmaster. He’s got a painted face and eyes. In gun mode he in addition to his main gun barrel there are two smaller barrels. He just looks really cool.

Vehicle Mode: Cyclonus is awesome in vehicle mode. The design of his jet mode is perfect. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite get some of his panels to close up properly. I don’t know if this is because it’s a knockoff or if the Fans Toys version has a similar issue.

Robot Mode: Cyclonus looks awesome in robot mode. I love his face sculpt and colors. I’m not a big fan of Shattered Glass, but orange is my favorite color, so I love this paintjob. All of his various guns look great. I don’t know what to make of the samurai armor, but I love his swords.

Overall: This is a great toy. Panels that don’t close are nothing new to Transformers, so I live with that. If you don’t want the Shattered Glass version, get the regular version.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
