Blog #2622: Toy Review: Transformers Lunar Cruiser Optimus Prime

Transformers Lunar Cruiser Optimus Prime

Lunar Cruiser Prime

Vehicle Mode: Optimus Prime as a lunar rover? Sure, why not. Vehicle mode is very cool. The two windows in the front do give a suggestion of G1 Optimus Prime’s windshield. Paint apps are sparse, but you wouldn’t exactly paint a lot of detail on a lunar rover, though it of course has logo of the Japanese space agency, JAXA.

Robot Mode: He looks pretty cool in robot mode. I like that they gave him red forearms and blue legs to make him look a little more like Optimus Prime.

Overall: This was produced in conjunction with Toyota and JAXA. It’s a cool figure, but hardly a must have. On the other hand, how likely are we to get another Optimus Prime Lunar Rover? On the other hand, $75 is too much for it. I’d say it’s worth $50-$60 at most.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
