Transformers Generation One Transform JR Grand Maximus
“Only the worthy find the grail.” – Robert Langdon, The Da Vinci Code
Yes, I know. I’ve used that quote before, and Primus willing, I will be using it again. “Worthy” is overstating it, but when you’ve acquired one of the Holy Grails on your want list I think you’re entitled to be a little dramatic. Without further ado, behold…
Transform JR (or Transformers Juniors) are smaller simplified versions of Generation One toys make by Takara. There were a total of 18 different TF Juniors toys released singly and in a variety of multipacks. I’ve needed one last toy to complete the set (one of each toy, not including the multipacks) for a long time and I’ve finally tracked it down.
Grand Maximus
Grand Maximus’s headmaster is pretty bad. It’s his head turned upside down with a separate part for his legs, but the rest of him is pretty cool. He only has one alternate mode, his battle station mode, and only one weapon. Old white toys tend to yellow over time, and I’m amazed that he doesn’t have a spot of yellow on him. I think his only paint app is the orange paint on his face. Is he the best toy, no, but I’ve been after him for 27 years trying to complete my set of Transformers Juniors.
Thanks for reading!
