Combination Mecha Piranacon (Third Party Transformers G1 Seacons, Piranacon, Nautilator, Overbite, Seawing, Skalor, Snaptrap, Tentakil)
With the proliferation of third party toys the line between a knockoff and a third party toy have blurred, at least they have for me. It would be fair to call this a knockoff or a modified knockoff since it’s not an exact reproduction of the G1 toy, but I consider this third party (especially as many third party toys are now being knocked off). This set of Seacons is smaller, but most of the toys are essentially the same molds as the G1 toys.
Nautilator
Nautilator’s overall color scheme is similar to most of the other G1 Seacons, but to his. G1 Nautilator has no pink on him. He obviously has no stickers (except for the number sticker) and has very few paint apps.
Overbite
Overbite is primarily light green with pink, teal, and white. He has a few more paint apps than Nautilator.
Seawing
Seawing shares Overbite’s color scheme, but has very few paint apps. Seawing has an extra port on his waist, no present on the original G1 toy.
Skalor
Skalor has a lot more pink on him than Overbite or Seawing. Virtually no paint apps in robot mode, but he does have a few in creature mode.
Snaptrap
Snaptrap is mostly pink and green with very little teal. He has a number of mold changes including ports on his upper left and right chest and a peg on his abdomen. These are for connecting his shield in robot mode.
Tentakil
Tentakil has all the colors of the above in varying amounts. His creature face is well painted, his robot mode not at all.
Piranacon
Piranacon looks great, but I’m sure you’re noticing a few difference to the G1 toy. Most notably, he has no hands. The creature mouths serve as his hand (at least his right), he basically has a gun hand for his right. This toy uses Overbite has his left arm. Where is Seawing? He’s attached to his back with that added port on his waste with Nautilator’s gun on top facing forward over Piranacon’s head.
Overall: If you want an awesome looking Piranacon at a really reasonable price (less than $40, but I don’t know if they are still available) this is an awesome set.
