Power Baser and God Armor (AKA Godmaster Ginrai / Powermaster Optimus Prime and Godbomber)

Vehicle Modes: Let’s start with Godbomber. Godbomber is awesome in vehicle mode. He’s still basically a partsformer, but there is a lot more to him than the G1. Great paint apps, especially on his missile. Optimus Prime’s cab looks great. I really like the design. Trailer is a big box, but that is what it should be. They look great together. His base mode is passable.

Godbomber looks great. He’s got tons of paint details and I love the swords.

Optimus Prime / Ginrai is pretty good, but he’s got a big open space in his abdomen. You can’t see it in the photos, but from the side, he just looks like he’s missing something. His colors are great and he has lots of molded detail. His head sculpt is excellent.

Powermaster Optimus Prime / Godmaster Ginrai looks amazing. He’s enormous. His paint apps are great, and he has a great head sculpt. He was not fun to transform. Actually it was more like wrestling him into combined mode. I never did get the smaller robot legs on his back quite perfectly in place. This doesn’t really cause much of an issue in this mode. Godbomber is just as tall as he is, which is really great putting them side by side.

When combined, Super Godmaster Ginrai is magnificent, absolutely awesome, but he does have a couple of flaws. He is so big that I think his head is a little too small. As I mentioned I had trouble with his robot legs, and it becomes an issue when combined. It’s really hard to get everything closed up. If you look closely behind his head you can see his smaller robot legs aren’t quite lined up. Every time I tried to fix that something popped out of place. I eventually gave up.

Overall: While slightly flawed, this toy is absolutely awesome. I can’t recommend him enough.
