Blog #2481: Toy Review: Fans Hobby Athena (Third Party Transformers G1 Minerva)

Fans Hobby Athena (Third Party Transformers G1 Minerva)

Headmaster

Minerva has a fantastic face sculpt. I love that they painted the visor of the robot mode face.

Athena (AKA Minerva)

Vehicle Mode: Athena is based on G1 Headmaster Junior Minerva. Minerva looks fantastic. The base mold is the same car mold Fans Hobby has used to make many Autobot cars. She has an excellent paintjob and is a perfect updated version of the original.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Minerva has a few differences from the G1, but all are for the better. She haws actual feet instead of the car roof. He hood becomes her legs instead of the back of the card and the split red cross looks great. She has the tall shoulders, but they look much better than the g1. She looks amazing.

Overall: Minerva is awesome, and given how expensive her G1 toy is, for around $90, this is a must have is you love G1 Japanese characters/toys and don’t want to spend $2000.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
