Thanatos (Generation One Killbison with Bisonbreast)
Bisonbreast
Bisonbreast looks great, but that translucent red plastic looks terrible.
Previous Mold Use: TFC Toys Hypnos (Generation One Drillhorn)
Vehicle Mode: I love Killbison’s vehicle mode. Paint apps are great. My only complaint is that his guns don’t have a locked position so getting them lined up is a pain. In vehicle mode the only parts he has in common with Drillhorn are his treads.
Robot Mode: In robot mode you can see far more parts in common. Killbison and Drillhorn have the same arms, hands and feet. I will give them credit. They could have used the same mold for the legs and waste with just a few paint apps to make then look different, but those are all knew parts. I love Killbison’s head sculpt. The dual cannons being able to fold down over his shoulder are a great design choice. Unfortunately as with most of his teammates, Bisonbreast looks like he’s just stuck onto Killbison’s chest.
Overall: There is certainly an argument to be made, that these two should have been completely different molds, but on the other hand, they are both legs, so do they really need to be that different? I’m okay with it. Killbison really does look great in both modes.
