Transformers: EarthSpark Deluxe Class Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime

Vehicle Mode: Optimus Prime’s vehicle mode is kind of a mixed bag. On the good side, his Axe clips on to the bottom of the vehicle, and his gun is an intricate part of his vehicle mode rather than just sitting on the back of his truck bed like so many Optimus Prime toys. You can’t actually put him in truck mode without his gun. I mean, you could, but he would not be properly pegged together. On the bad side, there is something odd about the shape of his cab. I’m not sure how to describe it. His windows seem to straight up and down for this type of cab. It’s not bad, just seems oddly shaped. Also, the side of the truck has some gaps. They aren’t terrible, it just looks like it’s not transformed correctly.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Optimus Prime looks great. That face still looks off. I’m still getting used to it. His paint apps are perfect. I really like his gun. It looks very much like his original laser rifle, though it’s a bit short. I like the axe, but he can only hold it in his hand, not have it replace his hand like it should.

Overall: Optimus Prime is pretty great. If you’re only going to get one EarthSpark Optimus prime, I would get this one.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
