Transformers: Adventures (Robots in Disguise) Legion Class Toys R Us Prime & Mini-Con Battle Packs Jeffrey Prime
Ever see a new toy coming out, think it’s one that you need to have, and then due to cost, availability, and the passage of time, you kind of forget it ever existed? Well, these would fall into that category for me. Last summer at Botcon 2023 I picked these up. Legion Class Toys R Us Prime and Mini-Con Battle Packs Jeffery Prime were released as part of the Transformers Adventures line in Japan exclusively at Toys R Us Stores (obviously) in 2015, with the larger one coming out the following year. I was kind of shocked at how much cheaper they were than back when they came out. I think I paid $50 for the larger one and $20 for the Legion Class.

It’s hard to give a name to the color scheme for this other than to say he’s in Toys R Us colors. Looking at the original version of the toy and it’s repaints, it seems all his parts are cast in yellow and black plastic, and his shoulders and chest are painted. He has stickers for the giraffe and Toys R Us log on his shoulders, but the legs on his stars are painted.

The larger version was repainted from the Mini-Con Battle Packs Optimus Prime without the armor included with the original. Other than being larger, he seems to be molded from three plastic colors, dark red, black, and yellow. His paintjob is basically the same as the smaller version with the addition of white paint on his forearms, and his antennas are now painted yellow.
Overall: These are very cool toys, but hardly must haves. Well worth what I paid for them, but I’m glad I didn’t spend more on them when they came out.
Thanks for reading!
