Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Activator Combiners Wave 3 (Optimus Prime with Hit Test & Soundwave with Laserbeak)

Calling these guys combiners is a bit of a stretch. They are more like a cross between G1 Powermasters and Targetmasters, There partner activates their transformation and then turns into a gun. There is a button that can activate transformation if you don’t want to attach the toy. They really aren’t combiners in any normal sense.

Optimus Prime & Hi-Test

Hi-Test is one of the better Mini-Cons in this series. I really like this Optimus Prime’s vehicle mode. He has all his wheels, unlike some of the RID Optimus Prime’s. I like the painted silver missiles on the sides of the trailer. In robot mode he isn’t bad. I like the guns on his arms. The only problem is that his head is too small for his body.

Soundwave & Laserbeak

I’m not a huge fan of this version of Soundwave’s vehicle mode, but I love his robot mode. He looks great. His head is much better proportioned than Optimus Prime’s. I love the weapons up above his shoulders.

Overall: These are pretty cool. I recommend both.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
